You will make the leap from a student to a manager. At this level, communication will constitute an even bigger part of your job. And as you are in the spotlight now, your words will also carry more weight.
How to deliver a winning performance? Always anticipate the impact of your words. In particular, watch your sense of humour. Avoid making light of sensitive issues such as downsizing. Be conscious of jokes or witticisms that might offend. The more power you have, the more sensitive others will be to any perceived abuse of that power. And do not push your viewpoint too hard. Leave room in every conversation for spirited debate.
